There are many ways to put a video together.
You can have something filmed, or maybe an animation works for you, but if you want to do it really fast, your best bet is to go with stock footage.
With this video, Chegg had just put together an entirely certificate programmed and wanted to market it as fast as possible, since the start of the academic year was just around the corner. After receiving the script, I focused on building the story while trying to keep the visuals as coherent as possible.
The trick with stock footage is in getting the color correction and then color grade right. It's not easy, and many times you have to shuffle shots in and out of an edit just because the lighting isn't right, or the burnt-in image processing is too much, but at the end of the day a good color grade makes the difference between a cheap looking stock video and something that people thing was shot specifically for that moment in the story.
Suffice to say, at the end of the project the people over at Chegg agreed with the above statement.
